In accordance with 10 CFR Part 50.64 (c.2) and on behalf of the Georgia Institute of Technology, I hereby notify U.S.N.R.C. that federal funding is not available during fiscal year 1987 for converting the GTRR fuel from high to low enrichment.

The letter from Mr. Richard E. Stephens of DOE to me on the subject is appended. No further action on the conversion question is currently being contemplated by Georgia Tech during 1987.

We will, however, notify U.S.N.R.C. by March 27, 1988 about the availability of federal funds and will submit a proposal for the conversion should such funds become available.
