Dear Mr. Mendonca:

On behalf of the State of Georgia and within the limits of my authority as Director of the l Office of Planning and Budget, I hereby issue the following Statement ofIntent in compliance with Title 10 of the Code of Federal Regulations, specifically, Part 50,75(e)(IV).

The State of Georgia fully supports the cost estimate for the decommissioning of the Georgia Institute of Technology Research Reactor (GTRR) as presented in Section 5.0 of the Georgia Institute of Technology Research Reactor Decommissioning Plan. This cost is currently estimated to be approximately $6,820,000. The State will seek to obtain the required funds for decommissioning when necessary based on the state budget planning requirements. We further state our intent to work diligently to prevent delays of the required decommissioning activities by providing to the General Assembly of Georgia the application for funding in a timely manner.

The subject Statement ofIntent is submitted in an originally signed and notarized duplicate.
