Dear Dr. Hertel:
On April 20 and 21,1998, the NRC conducted an inspection of your Georgia Institute of
Technology Research Reactor facility. The enclosed report presents the results of that
inspection.
Various aspects of your safety and emergency preparedness programs were inspected
including selective examinations of procedures and representative records, interviews with
personnel, and observation of activities in progress. No problems were noted during the
inspection.
In accordance with 10 CFR 2.790 of the NRC's " Rules of F. ictice," a copy of this letter
and its enclosure will be placed in the NRC Public Docuns~ Room (PDR).
