Emergency Preparedness Plan Docket 50-160 -

License R-97 As discussed-over the telephone, the statement at bottom of Page 23, Table I, Revision 1; "Two area radiation monitors in the Reactor Room (Bridge and Materials Handling Area) with readings above 100 mr/hr for one hour from an unexplained source," is changed to read,

" Radiation levels above 100 mr/hr from an unexplained source. "

This revised statement is also moved from the emergency class of " Alert" to the emergency class of " Operational Event."

Page number 25 in Revision 2 of the Emergency Plan, containing the change, is appended.

Reason for change We feel that the statement does not belong in the Action Level of the " Alert" emergency class. At action levels of 50 MPC and 20 mrem /hr at site boundary, the condition for an " Alert" would require evacuation of the containment building and consequently the radiation area monitors could not be read from the outside. It is however useful to include the revised statement under action level of Operational Event. Consequently the revised page to the Emergency Plan is enclosed.
