SUBJECT: NRC INSPECTION REPORT 50-382/98-18

Dear Mr. Dugger:

From October 18 through November 28,1998, an inspection was conducted at your Waterford

Steam Electric Station, Unit 3, reactor facility. The enclosed report presents the scope and I

results of that inspection.

During the 6-week period covered by this inspection, your conduct of activities at Waterford 3 1

was generally characterized by safety-conscious operations, sound engineering and

maintenance practices, and careful radiological controls.

In accordance with 10 CFR 2.790 of the NRC's " Rules of Practice," a copy of this letter and its i

enclosure will be placed in the NRC Public Document Room.
