Gentlemen:

I-By Memorandum and Order dated August 12, 1985, the Board admitted for litigation a number of contentions relating to emergency planning. Accordingly, Applicants propose the fol-lowing schedule for discovery on the admitted contentions. Ap-plicants have suggested this schedule to the Joint Intervenors and NRC Staff. The NRC Staff concurs. Joint Intervenors are i undecided.

Dr. Oscar H. Paris August 26, 1985 Page 2 Proposed Schedule for Discovery on Emergency Planning Contentions First round discovery requests shall be served by September 16, 1985 (35 days after the date of the Licensing Board's August 12 Memorandum and Order).

Responses to first round discovery requests shall be served within 20 days after service of the request.

Second round (follow-up) discovery requests shall be served '

within 15 days after service of the response to which that second-round request relates.

Responses to second round discovery requests shall be served within 20 days after service of the request.

Discovery will close on November 25, 1985. Depositions may be conducted at any time before the close of discovery.
