SH AW, PITTM AN, PoTTs & TROWBRIDGE A PARTNEWSWP 8hCLUOWo PeorESSiONAL COkpOnAtlONS Administrative Judges Atomic Safety and Licensing Board May 20, 1986 Page 2 Link))," the Licensing Board approved the provisions for prompt notification to Burke County of an emergency at Plant Vogtle, and directed that certain changes be made to the Burke County Plan to accurately reflect those provisions.
The Board further directed that the Staff and FEMA verify those plan changes by August 4, 1986.
As explained in Applicants' May 13, 1986 letter to the Licensing Board, state and local emergency management officials have indicated that the next full revision of the state and local plans for the Vogtle EPZ is presently scheduled for early Fall 1986.
Nevertheless, the officials have agreed to provide revi-sions of the subject sections of the Burke County Plan to FEMA and the NRC Staff in accordance with the Board's order.
- Thus, the specific revised sections of the plan which accurately iden-tify the back-up means of notification and indicate the line of succession of EMA personnel will be provided to the Staff and FEMA by July 1, 1986.
These arrangements will enable FEMA and the Staff to complete their review of the specific changes in accordance with the Board's order.
Applicants trust that the special arrangements of the state i
and local officials, described above, satisfy the intent of the Board's order.
Of course, the identified changes also will be reflected in the full plan revisions scheduled for early Fall.
Sincerely, f
I
