RELEASE OF NEW BRUNSWICK-NEW HAMPSHIRE SEISMIC REPORT By letter dated March 4, 1986, you requested the release of a report entitled

" Seismic and Geological Studies - Miramichi area, N.B and Central N.H." That report was transmitted to the NRC by letter dated August 23, 1983 from Maine Yankee Atomic Power Company (MYAPCo) and was prepared by Weston Geophysical Corporation for Public Service Company of New Hampshire, MYAPCo, Vermont Nuclear Power Corporation and Yankee Atomic Electric Company. Attached to the August 26, 1983 letter was an affidavit addressing the proprietary nature of the report and requesting withholding the report from public disclosure pursuant to 10 CFR 2.790.

By letter. dated October 17, 1983, the NRC approved MYAPCo's request for withholding the Weston Geophysical report and also requested that, if the basis for withholding this information from inspection should change in the future such that the information could then be made available for public inspection, MYAPCo should notify the NRC.

By letter dated January 13, 1984 MYAPCo notified the NRC that the New Brunswick-New Hampshire Seismic Report could be designated as a non-proprietary document and be made available for public inspection. The document was so designated in a memorandum from NRC's Division of Licensing to NRC's Division of Technical Information and Document Control dated February 10, 1984. The non-proprietary designated document, however, was filed under the February 10, 1984 memorandum where it is available for inspection in the

.Public Document Room in Washington, D.C. and in the Local Public Document Room (LPDR). Your LPDR is located at the Wiscassett Public Library, High Street, Wiscassett, ME.
