DELETION OF OVERTIME RESTRICTIONS (TAC NO. MA5030)

Dear Mr. Davis:

The Commission has issued the enclosed Amendrz..t No.153 to the Yankee Atomic Electric Company (YAEC) Possession Only License (POL) No. DPR-3 for the Yankee Nuclear Power Station. This amendment consists of changes to the Technical Specifications (TSs) in I response to your application dated March 17,1999.

The amendment revises TS Section 6.0, Administrative Controls, by deleting TS Section 6.2.2.f, 5 which contains limits on the working hours of plant staff. The amendment also authorizes the incorporation of appropriate working hour restrictions into licensee-controlled documents or programs. In approving this action, the staff relied upon YAEC's commitment in its March 17, l 1999, letter to provide appropriate working hour restrictions in its Administrative Procedures. '

A copy of the related Safety Evaluation is also enclosed. The Notice of issuance will be included in the Commission's next biweekly Federal Reaister notice.
