PUBLIC MEETING TO DISCUSS REVISED RISK ASSESSMENTINFORMATION AND FUTURE ACTIONS FOR THE KEWAUNEE POWER STATION

Dear Mr. Christian:

This letter refers to the public meeting conducted on November 30, 2006, at the Region IIIOffice in Lisle, Illinois. The meeting was held at our request to discuss the status of your revised risk assessment program at the Kewaunee power station.Mr. Mark Satorius, Director, Division of Reactor Projects, at the Nuclear RegulatoryCommission (NRC), Regi on III, opened the meeting with introductions of NRC officialsand then turned the meeting over to your staff.Ms. Leslie Hartz, Site Vice President, then lead a presentation provided by several Dominionstaff members that described Dominion's revised risk assessment results for the Kewaunee station and risk reduction activities that had been completed and those that are planned in both the near and long term. The presentation summarized that once the planned modifications are complete that the baseline risk assessments values for Kewaunee would be reduced by about 91 percent from the current values. Mr. James Caldwell, Region III Administrator, concluded the meeting by thanking your staff forcoming to the Regional Office and providing the information. He then acknowledged the efforts taken to date and your planned efforts to continue to reduce baseline risk at the Kewaunee plant.A listing of principal Dominion and NRC meeting attendees and a copy of the handout providedby Dominion at the meeting are enclosed as Enclosures 1 and 2, respectively, to this letter.
