Dear Mr. Stolz:

Under separate cover, we are transmitting three (3) original and forty (40) conformed copies of an application for Amendment to Facility Operating License No. NPF-3 for the Davis-Besse Nuclear Power Station Unit No. 1.

This application requests that the Davis-Besse Nuclear Power Station Unit 1 Technical Specifications, Appendix A, be revised to reflect the changes attached. The proposed changes involve:

1. Section 4.8.1.2
2. Table 4.3-11
3. Table 3.6-2 The three attachments identify the proposed changes and their safety evaluation. Item 1 concerns Surveillance Requirements for the automatic load sequencer. Item 2 concerns monthly testing of the Auxiliary Feed-water System automatic actuation logic and manual initiation circuit.

Item 3 concerns cycling requirements for the Main Steam Isolation Valves in Mode 4.

This amendment request involves one change to a previously submitted -D O!

(July 10, 1980 Serial No. 731) amendment request still under review and I l two Class III types. Enclosed is a check for $8,000 as requested by /
