AUGMENTED INSPECTION TEAM DISPATCHED TO SEQUOYAH On March 1, 1993, Sequoyah Unit 2 was manually tripped from full power, Tho Unit was tripped when operators noticed an increase in main generator voltage. Subsequent to the trip, a steam leak was discovered in an extraction steam line to a feedwater heaj:Br. The Unit 2 generator voltage regulator cubicles were discovered to be pett;gd due to the steam leak.
The leak was believed to be caused by erpsioradof the piping. Unit 2 was taken to hot shutdown after the trip d ased' the unknown condition of nt management directed The Unit 1 extraction steam piping, licepsie, hat Unit 1 be shutdown for inspection ~.
