RESULTS OF TVA IG DRUG INVESTIGATION AT SEQUDYAH TVA has announced that an investigation into drug use by Sequoyah personnel i is currently under way. The investigation resulted from an allegation against a lieutenant of the guard force (Office of Public Safety Service (PSS)). During the investigation, a number of individuals were questioned about drug use. Six individuals from PSS admitted using drugs. Drug tests were administered to 26 individuals at the Sequoyah site on Tuesday, April 21, 1987. Out of the 26 individuals tested, 14 individuals tested positive. Of the 14 who tested positive, 3 were guards, 2 were PSS clerks, 3 were instrumentation and control mechanics, I was a health physics technician, and 5 were laborers. Two licensed
, operators were tested but neither tested positive. One individual, a guard, j refused to be tested and was fired. The individuals that tested positive have
- been restricted from site access. The TVA Inspector General is continuing the investigation.
