SUBJECT:

AUTHORIZATION OF SEQUOYAH UNIT 2 TO BEGIN AN APPROACH TO CRITICALITY On March 30, 1988 at approximately 10:40 p.m., the Office of Special Projects gave authorization to TVA to begin boron dilution of the reactor coolant system in the approrch to criticality (Mode 2). Prior to actually beginning dilution, at approximately 12:30 a.m. on March 31, 1988, it was determined that additional temperature adjustment would be required on one of the three pressurizer loop seals. Any control rod movement or reactor coolant system filution are being p\ delayed until satisfactory adjustments and subsequent testing of 'S loop seal f, d '
