99901011/85-01 NOTICE OF VIOLATION As a result of the inspection co-iucted on December 17 and 31,1985, and in accordance with Section 206 of
- Energy Reorganization Act of 1974 and its implementing regulation 10 CFR Part 21, the following violation was identified and categorized in accordance with the NRC Enforcement Policy (10 CFP Part 2, Appendix C), 49 FR 8583 (March 8, 1984):
Section 21.21(a) of 10 CFR Part 21, states, in part: "Each irdividual, corporation, partnership or other entity subject to the regula'. ions in this part shall adopt appropriate procedures to: (1) provide for: (i) evaluating deviations or (ii) informing the licensee or purchaser of the daviation in order that the licensee or purchaser may cause the deviation to be evaluated unless the deviation has been corrected...."
Section 8.3 of QAP 15.3, revised 04/12/82, of Goulds Quality Assurance Procedures states: "...a written report of the problem, detailed investigation, data and corrective action shall be prepared by Quality Assurance to fully document the solution to the problem."
Contrary to the above, Telemecanique (formerly Gould) did not adequately evaluate a defect concerning cracked plastic barrier plates discovered in size one and two combination reversing motor starters to assure that the River Bend Nuclear Power Plant was not affected. (85-01-01)
