Dear "e. White:

KBarr TVA-Rockville ,

SUBJECT:

SYSTEM QUALITY EVALUATION INSPECTION Re: Sequoyah Nuclear Plant, Unit 1 As we have discussed with your staff, we are planning to conduct a major team inspection on one Unit 1 system as part of our review of issues and programs leading to Unit I restart. This letter is to provide our requirements on the work to be completed at Unit 1 before we can initiate the inspection. We require that: 1) all Phase I walkdowns are complete, 2) the review by Engineering Assurance described in your May 9, 1988 letter and Revision 3 of the Sequoyah Nuclear Performance Plan is complete and, 3) an average of 75% of the work to be completed prior to Unit I restart is completed.

You are requested to inform us by letter when Unit I will be ready for the inspection and the basis for your conclusion that the 75% mark has been met.

The reporting and/or recordkeeping requirements contained in this letter affect fewer than ten respondents; therefore, OMB clearance is not required under P.L.96-511.

Sincerely, j Original Signed by Rajender Auluck, Acting Assistant Director 8805270275 800520 for Projects PDR ADOCK 05000327 TVA Projects Division O PDR Office of Special Projects cc: See next page ,
