NRC INSPECTION REPORT NO. 50-327/98-14 AND 50-328/98-14

Dear Mr. Scalice:

On November 6,1998, the Nuclear Regulatory Commission (NRC) completed an inspection at

your Sequoyah Nuclear Plant. The enclosed report presents the results of that inspection.

During the week of November 2-6,1998, an inspection team observed selected portions of your

emergency organization's response in key facilities during the emergency preparedness plurne

exposure exercise conducted on November 4,1998. The emergency response observed during

the simulated accident was considered generally satisfactory.

Your attention is directed to the exercise weakness identified in Section P4.2.b.2 of the enclosed

report. As required by Section IV.F of Appendix E to 10 CFR 50, any weaknesses that are

identified shall be corrected. The adequacy of those corrective actions will be reviewed during a

future inspection.

In accordance with 10 CFR 2.790 of the NRC's " Rules of Practice," a copy of this letter and its

enclosure will be place " the NRC Public Document Room.
