By way of letters dated October 20, 1982 and December 22,1982,(Ref 2 and 4), Public Service Company was notified that a fee of $1,200 was due for our application relating to the Fort St. Vrain Nuclear Generating Station (Ref I).

Subsequent to our request of September 14, 1982, proposed rules to 10 CFR 50 which affected several of our submittals were issued for comment. With the mutual concurrence of NRC Region IV, Public Service Company submitted a proposed (uneffical) composite of changes to Section 7 of the Fort St. Vrain Technical Specifications (Ref 3).

One of the items affected by this composite was the original September 14, 1982, request. Therefore, and again with the concurrence of Region IV, the 51,200 fee was withheld until compatibility with the proposed rules was ascertained. When this item is resolved, Public Service Company will make an official, composite submittal based on finalized rules. The appropriate fee will accompany that submittal.
