-Design Features, Section 6.1, to permit removal of the Control Rod Drive and Orifice Assemblies (CR00As) from core regions that have been defueled, in support of plant closure activities as discussed in ,

Attachment 2 of Reference 2. The CRDOAs include control rod absorber strings, reserve shutdown hy pers, orifice valve assemblies, control rod drive radiation shields, and control rod drive and orifice 3 control mechanisms.  ;

Attachment 5 contains PSC Engineering Evaluation EE-DEC-0033, Rev. B (Removal of _CRD0AL radiation shielding). Attachment 6 provides General ' Atomics' evaluation for -removal of orifice valve assemblies from defueled regions.
