This letter provides an amended response for Item (e), Page 2 of Refer-ence b), Welder Qualifications. These records were, in fact, misfiled within the Contract file. Those welder qualifications which were mis-filed have now been relocated under the generic classification welder qualifications. However, it was brought to the attention of Project Quality Assurance, by the NRC Resident Inspector, that welder qualifi-cations for Welder #82 could not be found. A full review by Project QA for all fifty-seven (57) required qualifications disclosed that, in fact, a total of 8 welder qualifications are missing from the Contract 24 file.
Project QA has searched the files for these records. Contract Specifi-cation 2808-24 required them to be submitted for information only.
Project QA has contacted the Vendor, HUIC0, Inc. of Meridian, Idaho, who informed us that they have no records of welder qualifications prior to 1976 in their files.
l Corrective Action - Project QA will initiate an NCR for the missing welder qualifications for Engineering review and disposition. This report will be available for the Resident Inspector's review.
Action to Preclude Recurrence - Project QA is compiling a book of document matrices for the 62 inactive and prepurchase Quality Class I and Seismic Class I contracts. These matrices will be evaluated for accuracy and completeness.
