Reference:

Letter (No. G02-89-069), G.C. Sorensen (Supply System) to US NRC, dated April 24, 1989 With the referenced letter the Supply System submitted an .application for approval to dispose of low-level radioactive waste onsite in accordance wi th 10 CFR 20. 302(a) . Submi ttal of the appl i cati on to the NRC was consistent with a proposed rule change (see 53FR31880) under which the NRC would reclaim authority over onsite disposal in Agreement States. Because a change to existing policy (explained in IE Information Notice 86-90) is not anticipated in the near-term, the Supply System hereby withdraws its referenced request.
