Letter, G02-88-113, GC Sorensen to NRC, same subject, dated May 10, 1988 On February 17, 1989, Alan Hosier and Tom Gray of the Supply System partici-pated in a telephone conference call with Bob Samworth and Jim Wigginton of the NRC to discuss the above subject. Specifically, the punpose of the call was to discuss the Supply System's willingness to incorporate a more conservative protection factor, recently endorsed by and soon to be incorporated into ANSI Z88.2. As a result of the telephone conversation, the Supply System has agreed to make the following change to Attachment I, Item A.5 of the reference letter:

5. Canisters will be used only with properly fitted full facepiece respirators capable of providing of 500.

With this change, it is the Supply System's understanding that the NRC will approve the subject request for exemption on a schedule that will allow the Supply System to make use of this exemption during the next scheduled outage (April 15, 1989), should it be required.
