REFERENCE:

Letter, G02-87-0129, GC Sorensen to JB Martin (NRC),

entitled "WNP-2 Fire Protection Program Reevaluation,"

dated April 13, 1987.

The referenced letter, submitted the WNP-2 Fire Protection Program Reevaluation Report for, review by the NRC staff. Several improvement initiatives were identified in the report and a schedule for, completion of futurte action was provided in Section 1.6 of the Executive Summary. The current status of these future actions are provided below:

In summary several significant improvement initiatives have been implemented. The only future action items remaining to be completed are some minor, procedure revisions, submittal of the FSAR update, and rework of thermolag deficiencies identified by the testing program. While the work during the past year, has involved an extensive evaluation effort and substantial documentation improvements, there have been no new non-conformances or, major, hardware deficiencies identified since the submittal of the Reevaluation Report in April 1987.

NRR has completed a review of FSAR Amendment No. 37. This review resulted in 28 additional questions. Responses are being prepared by the Supply System staff for, submittal in mid-January 1988.
