Subject:

SUPPLY SYSTEM NUCLEAR PROJECT NO. 2 DOCKET NO. 50-397 RESPONSE TO IE BULLETIN NO. 83-06, NONCONFORMING MATERIALS SUPPLIED BY TUBE-LINE CORPORATION FACILITIES AT LONG ISLAND CITY, NY; HOUSTON, TX; AND CAROL STREAM, IL The subject IE Bulletin requested that licensees of facilities with construction permits provide a written response to IE Bulletin 83-06 within 120 days.

We requested that all suppliers and contractors review the procurement documents of their subcontractors and respond in writing to the Supply

- System. These responses and telecons revealed no usage of Tube-Line supplied materials in the construction of the project. The reference to the Supply System in Table 2 of Attachment 2 of the bulletin, was verified as purchased i by a WNP-3 contractor and subsequently recalled by the purchaser, Capitol Pipe

and Steel Products Company.

l As requested, by the referenced bulletin, time expended during research, l evaluation and preparing a written response has amounted to approximately 100 manhours of Supply System effort and unknown thousands of manhours of l suppliers time.

The Supply System hopes this letter satisfies the Commission's concerns.
