In accordance with the provisions of 10CFR50.55(e), your staff was informed by telephone on October 31, 1978, of a potentially reportable condition involving possible failure of Basic In Flow (BIF)valves utilized in the Standby Gas Treatment System.Attached herewith is our report on the deficiency.
The report was not previously issued because it was erroneously considered unnecessary to report this condition under, the provis'ion of 10CFR50.55(e), in as much as NRC was officially informed under the provision of 10CFR Part 21 by BIF on October 18, 1978.Please contact us if you have additional questions.
