Dear Mr. Stolz:

Under separate cover, we are transmitting three (3) original and forty (40) conformed copies of an application for amendment to Facility Operat-ing License No. NPF-3 for the Davis-Besse Nuclear Power Station Unit No. 1.

This application requests that the Davis-Besse Nuclear Power Station Unit 1 Operating License, be revised to reflect the change attached. The proposed change involves Appendix A, Technical Specification 3.7.9.la.

On December 16, 1984 Toledo Edison submitted a license amendment request (Serial No. 1103) to the NRC to comply with Generic Letter 83-43. Toledo Edison's request was approved by the NRC and issued as Anendment No. 93 to the Davis-Besse Technical Specifications. As previously discussed in Toledo Edison's letter (Serial No. 1275) to the NRC, dated May 8, 1986, Toledo Edison's request contained a clerical error which was incorporated into Amendment No. 93. To correct this error, the enclosed application requests that the word "or" be inserted after the words "...within 7 days,..."

in action statement "a" of rection 3.7.9.1. This change will make the reporting requirements consistent with the reporting requirements concept of the action statements to fire protection Technical Specifications Sections 3.3.3.8b, 3.7.9.2a, and 3.7.10a, which were correctly revised under Amendment No. 93.

Toledo Edison requests that this amendment be issued by November 3, 1986.

Enclosed is a check for $150 as required by 10CFR170.12(c) for a license amendment application.
