Dear Mr. Garg:
Subject:
Limerick Generating Station NPDES Permit No. PA0051926 This letter is being sent to request that the subject NPDES permit be amended by adding the chemical additives BetzDearborn Spectrus NX1100 and Continuum AEC3120 to Part C of the permit. Both additives will be used to treat noncontact cooling water in the station's administration building chiller system. Discharge of the noncontact cooling water will be to outfall 001 via the holding pond (monitoring point 201).
Spectrus NX1100 is a non-oxidizing biocide and will be used approximately once a week at a maximum usage rate of 1.0 lb/ day. Based upon this usage rate, the concentration at outfall 001 wil' not exceed 0.03 mg/l. Continuum AEC3120 is a water-based corrosion inhibitor and will be applied at a usage rate of 8.0 lbs/ day.
The resulting concentration at outfali 001 will be 0.266 mg/l.
