Limerick Generating Station NPDES Permit No. PA0051926 This letter is being sent to request that the subject permit be amended by adding the BetzDearborn chemical additives Inhibitor AZ8104 and Depositrol PY5206 to Part C of the permit. The additives will be used for controlling corrosion and scaling in the cooling water system.

Inhibitor AZ8104 is a water-based copper corrosion inhibitor and is an alternative to the currently approved PEC-3. The expected average usage rate of the additive is 188.48 pounds per day. Depositrol PY5206 is a water-based corrosion inhibitor / deposit control agent and is an alternative to PEC-16. The expected usage rate is 1,271 pounds per day. Enclosed are copies of the MSDS and aquatic toxicity data for both products.

A copy of this letter (including any attachments or enclosures) is being sent to the U.S. Nuclear Regulatory Commission (USNRC), in accordance with the l Limerick Generating Station, Units 1 and 2, Environmental Protection Plan, Section 3.2, which stipuiates that the USNRC shall receive a copy of any proposed changes to the NPDES permit at the same time that the permitting (q agency is notified.
