Dear Mr. Berkow,

In Reference 1, the NRC, requested that PSC provide status on two licensing issues. One question dealt with the date PSC has committed to for the testing of a CRDM assembly. A second question concerns the Technical Specification Upgrade Program review schedule.

In Reference 2, PSC forwarded to the NRC a clarification concerning the schedule for the environmental qualification testing of a CRDM assembly. As stated in Reference 2, PSC will complete the high temperature (300 degrees Fahrenheit) test and perform a preliminary evaluation of the test results by December 30, 1985. This date then g$

supercedes the date contained in PSC Letter P-85321. 1 I O L

In Reference 3, PSC indicated that we have reviewed the NRC comments provided in your letter dated August 28, 1985 (G-85368) and concurred with the NRC recommendations concerning the Technical Specification Upgrade Program review schedule.

If you have not received either reference 2 or 3 or have any further questions concerning these matters, please contact Mr. M.H. Holmes (303)480-6960.

Very truly yours, MMn H.L. Brey, Manager Nuclear Licensing and Fuels Division HLB /dg
