) (Spent Fuel Pool (Dresden Station, Units 2 & 3)) Modification)

Dear Administrative Judges:

The measurements of an additional 445 irradiated' channels at the Dresden Nuclear Station have been reviewed since the affidavit of Mr. Dennis O'Boyle, updating his

. earlier testimony on channel deformation, dated February 23, 1982, was submitted to the Licensing Board. We are updating the information provided by the affidavit of Mr. O'Boyle pursuant to the tenets of full disclosure as articulated in Duke Power Company' (William B. McGuire Nuclear Station, Units 1 and 2), ALAB-143, 6 AEC 623 (1973).

A total of 745 irradiated channels have now been measured at the Dresden Nuclear Station. Of the 445 addi-tional irradiated channels measured at the Dresden Nuclear Station since submission of Mr. O'Boyle's affidavit, only two had bow plus bulge deformation greater than 0.400 inches.

. The bow plus bulge deformations of these two channels were, I

respectively, 0.445 and 0.455 inches. Thus, none of the 445 additional irradiated channels measured at the Dresden l Nuclear Station exceeded the maximum bow plus bulge deforma-tion, 0.462 inches, previously reported to the Licensing Board in the affidavit of Mr. O'Boyle.

Respectfully submitted, 8203250574 820322 -
