Dear Mr. Grier:

By letter dated March 26, 1981 we provided our response to IE Bulletin No. 80-06. Enclosure 1 te that letter (item no. 6) identified va.ves FCV-llll and FCV-lll2 as reverting to tha 2

non-safeguards mode upon resetting of the ESF actuation signal.

Plans for modifying the actuation circuitry to preclude these valves from reverting upon resetting of the ESF signal were provided in Enclosure 2 to that letter.

During the recently completed refueling outage, previously planned modifications were implemented, changing the actuation of these valves from automatic to manual. Since these modifications rendered these valves independent of the ESF actuation signal and ESF reset, the planned revert changes to the FCV-llll and FCV-lll2 actuation circuits were no longer required and were not performed.
