Indian Point 3 Nuclear Power Plant Docket No. 50-286 License No. DPR 64 Submittal of the Physical Security Plan Revision 17
Dear Sir:
The enclosed Physical Security Plan, Revision 17, is being transmitted in accordance with 10 CFR 50.4(b)(4), to meet the requirements of 10 CFR 50.54(p).
The changes incorporated into Revision 17 were evaluated and we determined that the changes do not decrease the safeguards effectiveness of the plan. The Physical Security Plan, Revision 17, contains a "St.mmary of Changes" detailing the changes incorporated. Enclosure I contains SAFEGUARDS INFORMATION and should be controlled pursuant to 10 CFR 73.21.
The Physical Security Plan is being revised to reflect regulatory changes that deleted certain security requirements associated with the internal threat. These changes are taken to reduce regulatory burdens without compromising physical protection against radiological sabotage. Revision 17 also makes changes to reflect the addition of a vital area.
Please review to verify receipt, and sign and return the receipt acknowledgment form provided in Enclosure 11. There are no new commitments associated with this letter.
This letter transmits SAFEGUARDS INFORMATION and should be controlled in accordance with 10 CFR 73.21, unless separated from the enclosure.
