Under separate cover, we are transmitting an Application for Amendment to Facility Operating License No. NPF-3 for the Davis-Besse Nuclear Power Station, Unit No. 1.
This application requests that the Davis-Besse Nuclear Power Station, Unit No. 1 Operating License be revised to reflect the changes attached. The proposed changes involve Appendix A, Technical Specifi-cation Sections 3/4.4.8 and 6.9.1.5, and Bases Section 3/4.4.8.
The p:oposed changes are being submitted in response to Generic Letter No. 85-19 (Log No. 1829) which addresses the deletion of unnecessary reporting and Technical Specification requirements related to primary coolant activity associated with iodine spiking. This application requests that the reporting requirements for iodine spiking be reduced from a short-term report to an item which is to be included in the Annual Operat-ing Report. This Annual Operating Repot* item will contain information similar to that which was previously required to be in the Licensee Event Report (LER) and will designate the results to be included from the specific activity analysis. This application also requests that the requirement to shut down the plant if coolant activity limits are exceeded for 800 houru in a 12-month period be deleted.
Toledo Edison requests that this amendment request be approved and issued by July 30, 1987, and effective 30 days thereafter.
Enclosed is a check for $150 as required by 10CFR170.12(c) for a license amendment application.
