This is an interim response to your letter of July 23, 1986 regarding the alleged falsification of welding certificates for welders employed by Powerplant Specialists, Inc. (PSI) at the Virginia Power Company's North Anna and Surry Nuclear Plants.
This concern, which was reported to the U.S. Nuclear Regulatory Commission (NRC) by a representative of the International Brotherhood of Boilermakers, is being investigated by the NRC's Office o~f Investigations (01). As you requested, the Commission will furnish your Subcommittee with a copy of 01's report of investigation when it is conpleted.
