Dear Congressman Hastert:

On July 21,1986, you forwarded to us the concerns of your constituent, Mr. Howard Nickerson,'about excessive overtime worked by empicyees of three nuclear power plants, the Braidwood, Dresden and LaSalle County Stations,

' operated by the Connonwealth Edison Company. We evaluated Mr. Nickerson's concerns and responded in our. letter of September 14,1968.(Enclosura1). In that: letter we indicated that, in aedition to the routine mcnitoring of over-

. time.by cur resident inspectors, we would conduct a separate inspection 1ito the~ overtime issue. Our inspection'is now complete and was expanded beyond the Braidwood, Dresden and LaSalle Ccunty Stat 1cns to include the three other o nuclear power plants operated by the Commonwealth Edison Company: the Byron, Quad Cities and Zion. Stations. While no violations regarding the use of overtime were identified, the inspection repart describes several concerns with the administrative controls Connonwealth Edison Company has in place at each.

. issues and will continue to. monitor the use of overtime at these facilitid. A copy of -our inspection report (Enclosure 2) has been sent to Mr. Nickerson by separate correspondence.
