Dear Mr. O'Hanlon:
i By your letter dated February 24,1998, as supplemented November 12,1998, you submitted a revision to the original relief request NDE-32 of February 24,2997.- This revision contained certain enhancements that were made to the original program. The staff found that the i
alternative is authorized pursuant to 10 CFR 50.55a(a)(3)(ii), because compliance with the requirement would result in hardship or unusual difficulty without a compensating increase in the level of quality and safety. The proposed alternative was authorized for the remainder of the f
second 10-year inspection interval for each unit.
' The authorization letter was issued on December 3,1998. Apart from the fact that this authorization letter was erroneously dated as November,3,1998, the end dates of the second 10-year inspection intervals for both units were also incorrect.
The corrected copies of the cover letter and the Safety Evaluation, with the change bars denoting the changes made, are enclosed.
