Dear Congressman Ridge:
We are pleased to provide you with the infortnation requested in your letter of February 25, 1988.
In the United States there are sixteen operating nuclear power units located at twelve sites along the Great Lakes. They are as follows:
1.
Nine Mile Point Units 1 and 2, Oswego County, New York 2.
James A. FitzPatrick, Oswego County, New York 3.
Robert E. Ginna, Wayne County, New York 4.
Davis.Besse, Ottawa' County, Ohio 5.
Perry, _ Lake County, Ohio 6.
. Fermi Unit 2, Henroe County, Michigan 7.
Big Rock Point, Charlevoix County, Michigan 8.
Palisades, Van Buren County, Michigan 9.
Donald C. Cook Units 1 and 2, Berrien County, Michigan
- 10. Xewaunee, Kewaunee County, Michigan
- 11. Zion Units 1 and 2. Lake County, Illinois
- 12. Point Beach Units 1 and 2, Manitowoc County, Wisconsin There are no U.S. nuclear power units that are situated close to drainage basins which flow into the Great Lakes.
There are also sixteen operating nuclear power units located at two Canadian sites along the Great Lakes. These are as follows:
1.
Pickering Units 1 through 8, Pickering, Ontario (Lake Ontario).
2.
Bruce Units I through 8, Tiverton, Ontario (Lake Huron).
