"NRC   Inspection at WNP-2", dated 12/8/87 The reference forwarded the results of the NRC special team Safety System Functional Inspection (SSFI) conducted August 3 28, 1987 at WNP-2 and included a request that the Supply System provide a response to the enclosed violation within 30 days (January 7, 1988). It should be noted that the Supply System has continued to work to resolve those issues identified in the SSFI exit interview. However the Supply System has reviewed the Notice of Violation and considers that in order to provide a quality response an extension to the 30 days is needed; This request for extension is based on the following considerations:           The number of violations, although level 4 and 5, will require a much larger effort to assemble, review, and approve than any Notice of Violation previously responded to.                     Key personnel necessary to ensure an accurate,             quality response will be on Holiday throughout the next few weeks, and the plant has just completed a short but intense outage. This combined with the Holiday Season, results in requested and granted vacation time for personnel to both recover from the outage and enjoy the season.
