Licensee Action on an IE Bulletin (Closed)IEBulletin(373/83-03-BB,374/83-03-BB):
" Check Valve Failures in Raw Water Cooling Systems of Diesel Generators."
Followup on this item is documented in NRC Inspection Report No. 50-373/83-49; however, additional followup was required to verify the completion of the IE Bulletin requirements. The inspector reviewed the licensee's final response dated June 7, 1983. The licensee identified three check valves in the Diesel Generator Cooling System. These valves are of a different design as those addressed in the bulletin. The licensee forward flow tests the three valves each quarter in accordance with their IST Program.
As a result of the bulletin, an internal visual inspection was performed on two valves, during the fall 1984 outage. No damage was noted. Due to the design of the installed valves, the licensee does not plan further augmented inspections.
3.
Exit Interview The inspector met with site representatives (denoted in persons contacted paragraph) at the conclusion of the inspection. The inspector summarized scope and findings of the inspection noted in this report. The inspector also discussed the likely informational content of the inspection report with regard to documents or processes reviewed by the inspector during the inspection. The licensee did not identify any such documents / processes as proprietary.
