Dear Sir:

Pursuant to the Freedom of Information Act and 10 CFR 7.17, 10 CFR 9.8, Consumers Power Company requests the right to inspect and obtain copies of all documents in the possession of the Advisory Committee on Reactor Sa feguard s , its members, and its staff, pertaining or relating to the Midland Nuclear Plant. This request encompasses documents whether or not drafted by the ACRS or its staf f, and specifically includes but is not limited to documents drafted by the ACRS or its consultants, documents obtained from the NRC Staff, from Consumers Power Company, and from consultants to the ACRS or its subcommittees in connection with the review of the Midland facility. The term documents as used herein encompasses all documents and written informa-tion embraced by 10 CFR 7.17, whether written, printed, typed, or otherwise displayed, and specifically includes drafts of documents, charts, drawings, photographs, maps, tables, figures, schedules, correspondence, memoranda, reports, attachments, transcripts, minutes, appendices, working papers, studies , agendas or any other form of presentation of information in writing.

Consumers requests that such documents be copied and sent to Consumers Power Company at the above address. All copying and mailing expenses will be defrayed by Consumers Power Company. If the agency is unable to send the documents or have the documents sent, then Consumers requests that a copy be made available for inspection and copying at the Company's expense in the NRC's Public Document Room.
