LaSalle County Station Inservice Testing Program

'for Pumps and Valves NRC Docket Nos. 50-373 and 50-374 Reference (a): Letter dated May 27, 1986 from E.G. Anderson to D.L. Farrar Gentlemen:

On June 30 and July 1, 1987 the NRC staff and consultants from EG & G Idaho met at LaSalle County Station regarding establishment of a IrTervice Test (IST) Plan. This plan was to include both units as well as th- requirements indicated in the Safety Evaluation Report issued for Unit 1 (Reference (a)). Resources were provided to immediately prspare changes to the program to make it acceptable to your staff. They indicated that the hand written draft completed during that meeting would meet all regulatory requirements.

i This submittal contains the refined version of that hand draft and is Revision 0 of the Inservice Testing Program for LaSalle County Station w~ pumps and valves. It supercedes all previous IST Program submittals and will be implemented as of November 20, 1987. The current ten year interval for this program began on January 1, 1984, the date of commercial I

operation. The plan is based on the 1980 edition of the ASME Cede, Winter 1980 addendum.

Commonwealth Edison is notifying the State of Illinois of our request for approval of this program by transmitting a copy of this letter and attached to the designated state official.
