NRC Region I Letter Dated November 14, 1980 RE: IE Bulletin 80-23, " Failures of Solenoid Valves Manufactured by Valcor Engineering Corporation" Limerick Generating Station Units 1 & 2 Docket Nos. 50-352, 50-353

REFERENCE:

Letter J. S. Kemper to B. H. G ier dated December 26, 1980 FILE: Govt 1-1 (IE Bulletin 80-23)

Dear Mr. Grier:

In the reference letter we ecmmitted to supply additional information regarding the use of Valcor Engineering Corporation solenoid valves in the Limerick Generating Station NSS Systems. General Electric Company has completed their review and has advised us that no Valcor tolenoid valves of the type described in IE Bulletin 80-23 are used or planned for use in safety related functions in NSS Systems at Limerick.

The above information, coupled with that contained in the reference, means that none of the valves described in Bulletin 80-23 are used in safety related functions at Limerick; therefore, we plan no further action on this subject.
