In accordance with tne requirenents of 10 CFR 50.55(e), this letter constitutes an interir report en the status of corponent qualification test docu entation re-review.

S.e ref .enced letter provided a description of the reportable condition and of the administrative procedure by which the Eechtel re-review is being per fo rm ed . The encicture to this letter provides a current status of the Bechtel re-review.

Bi'.i has submitted a qualification test c .:us report similar to the enclosed Eechtel report. Initial reviews by CPCo indicate that discrepancies v.ay e:.ict similar to those fcund in the procurements :nde by 3echtel. A trip is pla .ed to EMI, Lynchburg, duriri which nore aualification test docu .entation vill be reviewed. Based upon this further review, it vill be decided what acticns are necessary.

1.- Proj ect enginecring has ccepleted the initial review of prev 1cu ry accepted quali fication docuraents. This review identified 71 purchase orders with questioncble areas. To date, 37 of the 71 orders containing cuestionabic areas have been resolved by further engineering cr vendor coordination.

2. Quality ccatrol at the jobsite has issued 51 nonconformance reports to identify and centrol the indeterminate, Q-listed raterir.1 located at the jobsite. Five of these ECRs have been closed. The rcrainin?,

NCRs are bcing dispositioned.

3. Coordinatien reetings which were held to resolve any questionable arcas noted during the re-review and docurented on the QTR foca are new cerplete. Engineering is continuing to coordinate questionable areas with the respective suppliers for resolution or positive identification of any deficiencies. To date, only the Foxboro t ransini t te rs (previcusly identified), ucre unable to teet qualificatA n requirements.
4. The engineering cepartrent p roj cet instruction (EDPI 4.25.1) on internal desi;;n interface centrol has been revised te increase interf ace and review req 2irercnts for c,ualification type documentation. The procedure is scheduled to bc issued in "cy la79.
5. The current issue of the qualificatica test status report, revision -'

dated '/6/79, is attached. The QTSR provides pertincnr '.i for ation reflectirg the traceability and status of the qualification test data.
