_ .- j' Enclosed are three (3) signed originals and eighty-seven (87) confomed copies of A=end=ent No.18 to Consumers Power Company's appli-cation for a constntetion per=it and operating license for Units 1 and 2 of the proposed Midland Plant. l l

L A=end=ent No. 18 changes the technical infor=ation on the tertiary heat exchanger system provided in Amendment No. 17, as re-quested by the DRL staff and the ACPS subeccmittee, to provide that tertiary steam delivered to Dow vill not contain more radioactivity than is contained in the treated sko-up water.

Copies of Amendment No.18 have been sent t'o each Ato=ic Safety and Licensing Board member and alternate, to the Chaiman of the Atcmic Safety and Licensing Board Panel, to the Office of the Secretary of the Atomic Energy Cc=aission, and to the Director, Division of Reactor Li-censing (2 copies), pursuant to 10 CFR 50 30(c)(2) . Copies have also been sent to Mr. Jerome Maslovski, Assistant Attorney General for the State of Michigan; Mr. Frank Olds, Chairman of the Midland County Board of Coc=issioners, Midland County, Michigan; Mr. Robert B. Chatterton, Supervisor of Midland Township, Midland County, Michigan; and Mr. Julius Blasy, Mayor of the City of Midland, Michigan. A certificate of service on all of th vp, cept Mr. Maslovski and Mr. Blasy, is enclosed.
