1) Letter to D. C. Hintz (WPSC) from C. E. Nerelius (NRC) dated February 5, 1986 We have received your assessment of Kewaunee Licensee Event Reports (LERs) that was prepared by the office for Analysis and Evaluation of Operational Data (AE00). This detailed review has provided us with a significant amount of use-ful feedback which we will use to improve Kcwaunee LERs. We appreciate your providing us with a copy of this assessment.

Specifically, the quality of future LERs will be improved by using an outline format during text preparation. This format will be similar to the text outline provided in Appendix C of NUREG-1022 Supplement No. 2. To ensure a complete presentation, the Preparation Guidelines from Appendix 8 and the Text Outline Checklist from Appendix D of the NUREG will be used when preparing and reviewing  ;

future LERs. '

Also, increased emphasis will be placed on root cause determination, safety assessment information and personnel error discussions. The sumary of the assessment report was presented to the Plant Operations Review Committee with the identified areas of weakness emphasized. This ensures plant management awareness of our commitment to improve the quality of LERs.
