Varga (NRC) dated April 11, 1985 From June 11-15, 1984, the NRC conducted a Regulatory Effectiveness Review (RER) of the Kewaunee Nuclear Power Plant (KNPP). The primary purpose of the RER was to determine if the KNPP security program provides the levcl of protection intended by the NRC as delineated in 10 CFR Part 73. On November 29, 1984 (reference 1), the NRC transmitted the results of the review to WPSC. WPSC responded, as requested, to the findings by letter dated April 11, 1985 (reference 2).
This letter is being submitted, as a result of conversations between our staffs on August 13, 1986, to provide additional information regarding the status of our efforts in addressing the concerns of the NRC in the protection of the KNPP vital equipment.
