NRC PHYSICAL SECURITY INSPECTION REPORT 50-305/97014(DRS)
Dear Mr. Marchi:
On September 19,1997, the NRC completed a physical security inspection at your Kewaunee
Nuclear Power Piant. The enclosed report presents the results of that inspection,
,
Areas examined within your security program are identified in the report. Within those areas,
the inspection consisted of a selective examination of procedures and representative records,
observation of performance, and interviews with staff. The objective of the inspection effort was

to determine whether activities authorized by the license were conducted safely and in
ac:ordance with NRC requirements.
Based on the results of the inspection, no violations of NRC requirements were identified.
Additionally, other findings, not involving violations, were identified and are provided for your
information and review. The inspector found that your audit /self assessment program did not
evaluate effectiveness of package searches conducted by your warehouse personnel. At the
exit meeting your staff agreed the weakness existed and indicated that they would take
corrective action.

disclosure according to Part 73, Title 10, Code of Federal Regulations, Section 73.21(c)(?).
