Technical Specification Charge Request No.111 and Facility Description and Safety Analysis Report Amendment No. 79 Pursuant to our correspondence of August 20, 1982 and Title 10, Code of Federal Regulations, Section 50.59, three signed originals and fifty-seven ccpies of GPU Nuclear's request for amending the Oyster Creek Nuclear Generating Station's Provisional Operating License No. DPR-16 are herein sutmitted. Wis request includes Technical Specification Charge Request No.
111 to Appendix A of the License, Amendment No. 79 to the Facility Description and Safety Analysis Report, and Amendment of Paragraph 2.B.(2) of the License.
The Oyster Creek Nuclear Generating Station spent fuel pool is currently licensed for the storaga of 1800 spent fuel assemblies. We operational plans for the Oyster Creek Station plus the potential return of 224 spent fuel assemblies presently stored offsite, indicate that sufficient capacity is available to acx,-Mate storage and core offloading needs only through 1985.
In order to meet storage and offloadiry needs beyond 1985, it is our intent to increase the licensed storage capacity of the spent fuel pool to 2600 assemblies. We increased capacity would meet anticipated requirements through 1992. Please note that the request to amend our License has been prenoticed in the Federal Register on October 8,1982 (47 FR 44647).
