SUMMARY

OF MEETING HELD DECEMRER 9-11, 1986 - TECHNICAL SPECIFICATION REVIEW (TAC 62942)

The subject meeting was held at the BVPS-?. site as the first of a series of-similar meetings to review the Technical Specifications (TS). Since it was announced as a working meeting, there was no formal-agenda. Enclosed is the meeting attendee list.

Attendees discussed issues raised as a result of review of the staff's draft-Technical Specifications (transmitted by letter dated November 6,1986)'. The applicant provided comments on the draft TS by letter dated November 28, 1986.

Since there was no intention on the staff's part to go into details on any proposed requirements, no technical-reviewers were requested to be present.

All discussion was centered on: (1) differences between Unit I and Unit 2 Technical Specifications, (2) proposed requirements as described in the Safety Evaluation Report and supplements, and (3) differences between Unit 2's draft TS and current regulatory requirements.

Solutions to the above items proposed by the attendees are: (1) Duquesne Light Company, as licensee for Unit 1, will submit an amendment re errors and other administrative matters in BVPS-l's TS, (P.)Some quest to sections SER address will be amended after the staff has compared proposed requirements in these sections to the BVPS-1 TS, and (3) In-depth discussions between the applicant and staff reviewers in the next few months will determine what additional 1- requirement will be imposed on BVPS-2.

i l The next meeting will take place in NRC offices and is tentatively scheduled j to be sometime in January, 1987.
