0F MEETING HELD ON JANUARY 16,1987(TAC 62883)

The sub.iect meeting was held to discuss with Duquesne Light Company (DLC) 1.ssues that remained open as a result of the staff's review of the WHIPJET final-report dated November 17, 1986. WHIPJET is a DLC program geared towards application of leak-before-break criteria to certain balance-of-plant piping in-order to eliminate certain pipe restraints. Prior to this meeting, five progress report meetings and one special meeting were held in 1986. is the list of_ attendees. Enclosure 2 is the agenda which outlines the technical issues discussed. The staff considered all issues on the agenda resolved pending DLC's formal submittal of a revision to the final WHIPJET report. The submittal is expected on January 31, 1987. The staff stated that the applicant should also submit a formal request for an exemption from GDC-4 for the piping addressed in the WHIPJET program.

Results of the staff's WHIPJET review are expected to be published in SEP, Supplement 4.

No future meetings are planned.
